Pterostilbene: a next-generation polyphenol for brightening and protection
A resveratrol relative with strong antioxidant and brightening activity, supported by published and clinical studies.
Pterostilbene is a natural polyphenol structurally related to resveratrol. It has attracted growing attention from skincare developers for combining antioxidant, soothing and brightening activity in a single standardized active.
What the research covers
Published studies have examined pterostilbene's effects on melanogenesis and melanosome transport, inflammation and photodamage caused by UVA/UVB irradiation. Clinical work on natural pterostilbene from Pterocarpus marsupium has investigated skin brightening and sun-protection-related endpoints. We can share the literature package with formulation partners on request.
